Welcome to Henke Winery
At Henke Winery it all starts with family. Joe's initial aspirations to make wine were sparked in 1973 during a visit to his sister's Pennsylvania home. Joe kindled this spark by making his first batch of wine, a rose´ from concentrate. As Joe's love for wine making grew so did the number of people who encouraged him to begin making wine professionally. When this encouragement started coming from professional vintners, the flame was fanned and empowered Joe and Joan to create the legacy of the Henke Winery.

This year Westwood based Henke Winery earned 9 medals. For the 3rd year out of the last four Joe Henke, in Ohio State Competiton, was honored with a Gold Medal for “Best Of Show for Red Wines” for his 2009 Henke Vin De Rouge
The only year he didn't win for his reds, he won Overall Best of Show, Double Gold for his 2008 Riesling!!
Not just in Ohio either. Henke Winery received two gold medals at the Finger Lakes International Competition. The wines are Vendange A Trois and Cabernet Sauvignon.
